Once a small Sussex hamlet, Forest Row grew over the centuries, shaped by the progress of travel and trade. The arrival of a turnpike road in the 18th century first connected it to the wider world, and later, in 1866, the opening of the railway between East Grinstead and Tunbridge Wells brought new life to the village. Though the line closed in 1967, Forest Row retains its historic charm, a place where past and present blend seamlessly.
